Mortgage Broker Insights Report 2025

Our 2025 Mortgage Broker Insights Report is now available! 

We spoke with 100 senior-level employees in mortgage broker firms in England, Scotland and Wales to assess the direction of travel for the mortgage broker industry in 2025. 

At a time of market uncertainty, we saw some big swings in data from our previous report in 2024. 

Industry prioritising wellbeing.  

Here are just some of the standout findings from our research: 

•  43% of mortgage brokers now prioritise wellbeing initiatives for improving efficiency and reducing costs. Last year it was 22%.

• 53% of mortgage brokers are struggling to maximise revenue on each transaction. In 2024, it was only 39% of respondents.  

• 67% of brokers are most concerned about how the current economic climate could impact business over the next 12 months (up from 62% in 2024). 

Brokers broadening offerings. 

“The industry has reached an inflection point with mortgage brokers prioritising wellbeing as economic pressures persist,” says Lee Riche, Commercial Director at Optimus. 

“As we progress through 2025, we expect to see a greater focus on streamlining communications, exceptional service, and broadening offerings as brokers strive to make moves smoother for clients and more profitable for the business.”
